The house has a sociable layout with separate kitchen, dining room and living room. There is a well equipped kitchen and three generously sized double bedrooms. 2 of the bedrooms have kingsized beds and the third has two single beds that can sleep adults or children comfortably. There is also an additional sofa bed which can be used for one additional adult. There is one comfortable family bathroom and a further shower room with WC.
The rear enclosed yard is suitable for sitting out and enjoying a barbecue. The house was built in 1812 and so there are some uneven floors and small steps typical of a period property but this adds to the charm. This home is ideal for families and groups of walkers, golfers or weekends away for 3 couples.
There is a large Smart TV with subscriptions to Netflix and Sky (not sports or films) and the home is also very child friendly and has a travel cot, stairgate and high chair as well- although please do note that as mentioned above the age of the property means that there are some irregular steps and floors.
Whilst a temporary residential permit is available for all visitors, the close proximity to the train station (5 minutes walk) makes this an ideal location for those travelling without a car.
Berwick Upon Tweed is a coastal town with so much history. It is England’s most northerly town located close to the Scottish Border. Berwick has a good range of shops, cafes and resturants- most of wish are walkable from the door of the property.
Berwick has fabulous local beaches as well as stunning surrounding countryside with the Cheviot Hills to the south and the Lammermuir Hills to the north. If you come by car there a lots of coastal towns to explore such as Bamburgh and Craster, or you can venture inland to Kelso, or the market town of Melrose.
There are lots golf courses in the area along with lots of hillwalking, or fishing on the world famous River Tweed.
The train station has regular services to Newcastle upon Tyne (45mins), Edinburgh (40mins), or you can go all the way to London as its the main east coast line.
