Frederick Street Apartment

We are in the heart of the city with all the main tourist attractions and transport links within easy walking distance. There are two small supermarkets within 200m- 500metres and a number of very good restaurants, coffee shops and bars in the vicinity of the apartment, and we provide a list of reccomendations within the apartment.

The Edinburgh airport is to the west of the City Centre. There are various options to get from the airport to the flat:
-Bus –Airlink(100) -£4.50 (adult single)/£2 (under 15 single); £7.50 (adult return)/£3.00 (under 15 return) and this bus drops you at Waverley Station. This bus can take 25 to 45 minutes.
-Tram -£5.50 (adult single)/£3 (under 15single); £8.50 (adult return)/£4.50 (under 15 return)–the closest tram stop to the flat is called Princess Street (not Princess Street West)and takes 35 minutes from the airport. This stop is approximately5 minuteswalk from the flat.
-Taxi -£18 to £25 (depending on traffic)–the queue is normally shorter in the Private Hire Car queue. Although it says Private Hire, this does not mean that you have to pre-booked a taxi in advance but you can do on 0131 555 5555 (quoting your flight number).The traffic can be bad during rush hour, especially during the festival.The taxi journey takes anything from 20 minutes to 40 minutes depending upon thetime of day.

If traveling by train then the mainline station in Edinburgh is Waverley station where you can get trains to other part of Scotland and services the main East Coast Line of England to London Kings Cross. The flat is about a 10-15 minuteswalk away from this station but if you want to get a taxi from here, there is a taxi rank and a taxi will cost about £5.

Car –there is no free parking near the flat during the weekdays till after 6.30pm when parking restrictions stop for the day. There are pay and display parking spaces near the flat. At weekends, you might find free parking spaces within a 5-minute walk of the flat (on Howe Street and the roads off Howe Street –down the hill from the flat) but as we are so central parking during the week isnt the easiest. There is a large multi story car park Omni Q Park, it is 24hr pay and display, or there is always the option of using the Park & Ride facitities during your stay.
