The Lodge Wardend

The Lodge at Wardend has been thought out and designed with wheelchair users in mind. While this home is fully accessible, it is also the perfect locations for families as the large spacious rooms offer plenty of storage for buggies, walkers and cots (the usual cumbersome items that seem to come with children!)

This is a smart home, where doors, blinds and lighting are all voice activated (with an override of course.) We have wide door frames, lowered kitchen units, grab rails and an accessible bathroom which really means there are no sticking points for anyone less able bodied. Just because this is an accessible home, it doesn't make it any less beautiful, the owners have filled it with tasteful decor and the usual warm amenities, keeping it open and welcoming to all.

There is a large and spacious master bedroom with kingsized bed. The bed also has an electric pulley system for those needing help with access. The closet is large and walk in with more than enough space for being on holiday- we'll be impressed if you can fill it! The bathroom has a walk in shower with grab rails throughout. The bathroom can be accessed through two doors, so no need to worry about struggling to turn when inside! Please note that the property doesn't have an oven, but does have a toaster oven which guests use without issue.

Your very gracious hosts live just next door and are on hand for anything you may need. The fishery is a small, local business which runs day to day. There will be anglers on site, so watch them cast their fly! The pools are set back from the lodge, so you don't need to worry about people walking past your window. Want to do some fishing? The owners welcome guests with a discounted rate for fishing and they can provide some of the angling equipment you'll need.

The owners also run a little coffee stop, so you can treat yourself to a freshly brewed coffee and piece before heading off for the day, or sit on the benches and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
For those able, there are an abundance of beautiful walks surrounding the property, including the popular Millbuies which is just a 2 minute drive away. We can point you in the right direction for the best walk for you - just ask!
