Description

Set within the wild and dramatic landscapes of Caithness. Wildeston is a peaceful and spacious holiday home just a 5-minute drive from Dunnet Head, the most northerly point of mainland UK. Perfectly positioned on the iconic North Coast 500 route, this welcoming home is ideal for families, friends, outdoor adventurers, and do-friendly holidays in Scotland.

This property is all about comfort and location. The lovely owner has thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay and Wildeston has been thoughtfully laid out to welcome groups of up to 6 with so much space and peace. The home is set just a few minutes away from some of Scotland's most loved and stunning beaches, Dunnet Bay and Castletown and a 10 minute drive from local amenities in Thurso.

Sleeping up to 6 guests across 3 comfortable bedrooms, the property offers plenty of space to relax and unwind. The master bedroom features a king size bed with en-suite, alongside two additional double bedrooms. The large family bathroom provides an enormous shower with great shower pressure (yes, we know how important that is!) and a deep bath for soaking in.

Designed with comfort in mind, the cosy and calm living room includes a smart TV and electric fire, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the coast. To the rear, a large and bright conservatory provides an additional living space — ideal for children to play during the day or for enjoying peaceful evenings with a tipple while watching the ever-changing northern skies. If you're lucky you might be treated to a show of the Northern Lights!

The kitchen in this house is stunning. Fully equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay including a big fridge freezer and a large dining table, perfect for gathering together after a day exploring. This room also offers gorgeous views over some of the rugged northern landscapes.

Guests are welcomed with a thoughtful welcome pack of local treats, adding a special touch to your arrival.

Well behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional fee and with prior arrangement and the house has an excellent utility space, making it ideal for the doggies to have their own space. Travelling with little people? No problem- this property is perfect for them. No stairs, large garden space and a cot and high chair can both be made available with prior arrangement.

We can guarantee that guests will want for nothing in this home and we can't wait to welcome you!

Location

An underrated part of Scotland. Situated just next to the most Northernly point of the UK, we are right next to some of the most amazing beaches Scotland has to offer. Thurso is a short 10 minute drive away and we are slap bang on the NC500 route. Wick is a 30 minute drive away and John O'Groats just 15 minutes. Our fabulous neighbours at Dunnet Bay distillery are just around the corner (Rock Rose Gin) as is the beautiful Dunnet Head Lighthouse. This area has so much history and stories to tell and we can recommend so many places to visit.

Dunnet Head and the surrounding northern tip of Scotland is one of the best places in the UK to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). As the most northerly point of the mainland, its high-altitude cliff views and minimal light pollution provide excellent, unobstructed views north over the Pentland Firth to Orkney.
